5 Hour Volcano Tour in Auckland
Following an 8am pickup from your hotel or from the cruise port near Queens Wharf, meet your guide and travel out into the suburbs of Auckland to begin your 5-hour tour.

Area and history of Mt Eden
Just 5 km from downtown Auckland it is the highest volcano in Auckland. The last eruption was about 15,000 years ago leaving a crater 50m deep.
Around 1870, farmland was subdivided into small suburban plots. In the 1950s Mt Eden was used by the New Zealand post office for radio communications. There were two buildings on Mt Eden, one building housed transmitting equipment, while the other housed receiving equipment.
In 2017 the road was closed to all vehicles.
