Point 1: Thunder creek Falls, Haast Pass
The track in is surprisingly sealed, making for an enjoyable walk into the Thunder Creek falls viewing platform or you can walk down to the water’s edge and test out the temperature of the Haast River. One more Kilometer up the road is another interesting place to stop, the bridge that crosses the Haast River Gorge. The safest place to park the car is across the bridge.
