3 km • 1.5 hours one way • Easy • Once you reach Huka Falls there are plenty of different viewing points to watch the water rush through the tight ravine of sheer rock cliffs, creating a canal of big churning rapids.
3.30 km • 2 hours return • Very easy • White’s Beach is a beautiful sandy beach 3.3 km to the north of Piha.
5 kms • 1 hour 40 minutes one way • Easy • The Tuahu Track starts at the end of Hot Springs Rd. It’s an excellent walk with Rimu & giant Kauri trees, freshwater streams, great views and bird life.
11 kms • 6 Hours • Medium, then hard walk • The Motutapere Hut is a 640m walk along the top of the Kaimai Ranges going south on the North-South Track after leaving the Tuahu Track. 8 km from Katikati.
6 kms • 4 Hours • Medium • The start of the walk is on the Tuahu Track then onto the Kauri Loop Track (optional) before turning off to Sentinel Rock Lookout Track. You shouldn’t attempt to climb to the summit as it’s very steep and dangerous.

1.9 km, 1 hour and 10 minutes medium walk. We enjoyed excellent views of Wellington harbour and the city from Mt Victoria lookout. Starting in Wellington city you’ll walk in and out of historic pine forests and past stunning old villa’s built on the hillside. It’s a hike up to the top but well worth it for the views.
Walk or bike the Kawakawa Bay Track from Kinlock up and over the hill down into Kawakawa Bay, 20 km drive from Taupo. Also part of the Great Lake Trail.
12 km • 3 hours • Easy Loop Walk • Excellent loop walk from the clifftop to the beach with fantastic beach views along the way.
1.8 km • 30 minutes • Easy walk down the long sandy beach and enjoy the great coastal views.
5.5 km • 1.5 hours • Easy • Great loop walk around the point is suitable for the whole family. Catch the ferry from downtown Auckland or drive to Hobsonville Point.
3.40 km • 1 Hour 30 Minutes • Easy to medium walking on a pretty good track in summer. Can get a bit slippy in the rain. Located in Castlepoint, 1 hour drive from Masterton.

5 kms • 3-5 hours return • Medium to hard walk, but well worth it for the stunning views over the Waikato from the top of the waterfall. Wairere Falls are near Matamata.
