Our pick of the best walks & hiking tracks in Manapouri

To be honest, there are not a lot of really good walks in Manapouri, but it is the gateway to Doubtful Sounds. The lake is very pretty on a calm day, take the walk to Fraser Beach, and enjoy the views. The bike track, however, is very good. You walk along the same track if you do the walk to Fraser Beach, although I would suggest actually walking on the beach and not the track.

I haven’t hiked from Peral Harbour to Back Valley Hut yet, but it’s on the list, I’m sure this will be an excellent walk.

I never go on a trip without it as I’ve had to use it many times in the past especially for medical. I’ve been using World Nomads for years and it’s very good.
