Starting in Kaiarara Bay to Mt Hobson Summit is a 15.5km loop walk on Great Barrier Island. It took me 5 hours to complete including stops.
The Bridle Track is a 1km one way, easy walk from Port Fitzroy on Great Barrier Island. It took me around 13 mins to walk. Pretty bush on a very good track.
The Motu Kaikoura Track is a 4km one way, medium walk on Great Barrier Island. It took me around 2 hours to walk there and back. Only accessible by boat.
The Kopurererua Valley Walkway is a 6km one way, very easy walk that took me around 1 hour and 45 mins to complete. This walk is in Tauranga near the city.
3.7 km • 1hr 30 minutes one way, 3 hours return • It’s an easy walk in the Tongariro National Park.
5.5 km • 1.5 hours • Easy • Also known as The Coastal Walkway, this is a great loop walk around the point is suitable for the whole family. Catch the ferry from downtown Auckland or drive to Hobsonville Point.
2.7 km • 40 minutes • Easy • Herald Island Path is an easy loop walk in Hobsonville, Auckland.
2.80 km • 1 Hour 15 Minutes to the top • Medium • The hike to the top of Mt Tauhara Summit is worth every step as you take in the breathtaking scenery that stretches from Lake Taupo all way down into central NZ.

3 km • 1.5 hours one way • Easy • Once you reach Huka Falls there are plenty of different viewing points to watch the water rush through the tight ravine of sheer rock cliffs, creating a canal of big churning rapids.
3.30 km • 2 hours return • Very easy • White’s Beach is a beautiful sandy beach 3.3 km to the north of Piha.
5 kms • 1 hour 40 minutes one way • Easy • The Tuahu Track starts at the end of Hot Springs Rd. It’s an excellent walk with Rimu & giant Kauri trees, freshwater streams, great views and bird life.
11 kms • 6 Hours • Medium, then hard walk • The Motutapere Hut is a 640m walk along the top of the Kaimai Ranges going south on the North-South Track after leaving the Tuahu Track. 8 km from Katikati.
6 kms • 4 Hours • Medium • The start of the walk is on the Tuahu Track then onto the Kauri Loop Track (optional) before turning off to Sentinel Rock Lookout Track. You shouldn’t attempt to climb to the summit as it’s very steep and dangerous.
4.7 kms • 3 Hours return full walk or 15 mins from Leslie Rd • Very Easy • 5 km North of Putaruru.
1.9 km, 1 hour and 10 minutes medium walk. We enjoyed excellent views of Wellington harbour and the city from Mt Victoria lookout. Starting in Wellington city you’ll walk in and out of historic pine forests and past stunning old villa’s built on the hillside. It’s a hike up to the top but well worth it for the views.
Walk or bike the Kawakawa Bay Track from Kinlock up and over the hill down into Kawakawa Bay, 20 km drive from Taupo. Also part of the Great Lake Trail.
12 km • 3 hours • Easy Loop Walk • Excellent loop walk from the clifftop to the beach with fantastic beach views along the way.
1.8 km • 30 minutes • Easy walk down the long sandy beach and enjoy the great coastal views.
8 km • 2 hours • Easy. According to my GPS, the Devonport to Takapuna Green Route walk is 8km and will take you around 2 hours, allowing for photo taking. © Freewalks.nz
3.40 km • 1 Hour 30 Minutes • Easy to medium walking on a pretty good track in summer. Can get a bit slippy in the rain. Located in Castlepoint, 1 hour drive from Masterton.
5 kms • 3-5 hours return • Medium to hard walk, but well worth it for the stunning views over the Waikato from the top of the waterfall. Wairere Falls are near Matamata.
3.70 kms • 50 Minutes • Easy • Sinclair Head fur seal colony is just a short 45 minute drive from down town Wellington then a short walk along the coastline. There is no way you can lose your way on this unmarked track as you are always within 20m of the sea all the way to the seals.
1.30 kms • 1 Hour return walk on an excellent track • Easy • 1 hour drive from Masterton in the Wellington Region.
